Blue Car Rental operates from two locations:

• Keflavik International Airport
• Reykjavik City Center

We charge 4.900 ISK one way fee, for collecting in Reykjavik city office and returning at Keflavik Airport office.

We offer small cars in various sizes. From the compact Toyota Aygo, to the spacious  Kia Cee’d Sportswagon.  

Our small cars are suited for 4 to 5 passengers with luggage spaces ranging from 1 to 4 large suitcases.  

Renting a small car is a great option for those traveling on a budget. Small cars have our lowest rental rate per day and lowest fuel consumption.  

You can visit all corners of Iceland on any of our small cars as they are allowed on all roads within Iceland´s main road system. Including the entire Ring Road. 

Small cars are not allowed on F-roads. 

It is possible to rent a small car all year round. Summer is the best time to drive a small car in Iceland. From May to October, road conditions are good with clear roads and mild weather.  

During the winter from November to April our small cars are fitted with studded winter tires.

We have a great selection of Large SUVs in various sizes. From 5 seated luxury vehicles to 7 seated 4x4. 

Our large SUVs all have impressive luggage space which can hold up to 6 large suitcases.  

If 7 seats are being used we recommend adding a roof-box for extra luggage space.  

Large SUVs are our most expensive options for a very good reason. They are the most spacious, luxurious and powerful cars available!  

However, the new and improved models we offer are surprisingly fuel efficient.

We offer Electric cars in sizes from small compact vehicle to mid-sized cross over SUVs.  

Our electric vehicles all have trunks fitted for luggage, capable of holding from 1 to 3 large suitcases and seating for 4-5 adult to sit comfortably.  

The driving range of the EV is shown on the dashboard when started. Road conditions, weather, temperature, and the total weight of the vehicle, with passengers and luggage can affect the driving range so you should assume that the car can drive up to 80% of the km shown in the dashboard.  

The displayed driving range is an estimation and should only be used as guidance. 

All our EV´s have a listed long-range of 400 km and more. 

Our Electric cars are not allowed on F-roads. 

Iceland has a well developed infrastructure, with fast charging stations located in all parts of the country.  

Inside all our rental cars is a sticker with a QR code which gives access to our safety website and a map of recommended charging stations.  

Our EV's are equipped with a 'Type 2' charging cable. Customers can use the cable to connect to charging stations around Iceland. Lost or damage to the cable will result in a fee of 65.000 ISK.
